Ethanol supporters say the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is endangering the rural economy and cellulosic ethanol if it cuts the Renewable Fuel Standard. Those who want to reform the RFS tell the agency the policy is broken.
Corn futures are higher at 6 a.m. CST, soybeans higher and wheat higher.
The cattle complex should open moderately higher, supported by the premium status of recent feedlot sales and early-week short covering. Lean hog futures are also likely to begin on a firm basis thanks to bouncing carcass value and premium of the cash index.
